Empowered Generation Ministry
The vision of the EEG is to create a world where American-born Ethiopian children and Ethiopian migrating children everywhere are empowered to achieve their full potential and become leaders in their communities, while maintaining a strong connection to their cultural heritage and identity.
The Empowered Ethiopian Generation (EGM) is a non-profit organization that understands the challenges that American-born Ethiopian children and Ethiopian migrating children face when living in the United States. These challenges can make it difficult for children to adjust to their new environment, navigate identity issues, and maintain a strong connection to their cultural heritage. The EGM recognizes that these challenges can lead to social and family problems, language and culture barriers, discrimination, and mental health issues.
To address these challenges, the EGM has designed programs to provide support and resources to American-born Ethiopian children and Ethiopian migrating children living in the United States. The organization believes that by empowering children with knowledge of their cultural heritage and language, they will be able to maintain a strong sense of identity while adapting to their new environment. The EGM provides language education both online and in-person, as well as hosting cultural events to foster a sense of community and promote cultural exchange. The organization also offers mental health resources to children and their families to ensure their emotional wellbeing is taken care of. The EGM recognizes the importance of strong family relationships and works to bridge the gap between the first- generation Ethiopian immigrants and their children who were born in the United States. The organization understands that healthy family dynamics are essential for children's success and provides resources to promote communication, understanding, and mutual respect.
Dear Ministers, Youth and Young Adult Pastors.
We are excited for what God has in store for “THE EGM.” We would like to invite your community and church’s youth and young group to come be a part of our growing vision. It is our honor to host this movement where in directions God is leading us. We are joyfully anticipating seeing children and teens, young adults and parents being challenged to supportthis vision. We are humbled and excited that communities want to come together as one. We hope that all will come agree with this basic philosophy of community.
